Billboard predicted that 2026 would be a vibrant year for Caribbean music, with Champeta android Dancehall taking center stage. And the prediction came true thanks to the current number one spot on the Top 100 Colombia Hits chart for the third consecutive week: “Chévere (premium Remix)” by Aria Vega featuring Ryan Castro. The song has the whole country dancing thanks to its zouk sound, an energetic and rhythmic genre created in the French Antilles (Guadeloupe and Martinique) in the early 80s that also fuses Haitian kompa with African rhythms, calypso, and electronic touches, all set against a backdrop of powerful bass and prominent synthesizers.

TikTok and social media have played a fundamental role in Aria Vega’s rise to fame, making her one of the most promising and exciting emerging artists in Colombia right now.

Billboard describes Vega’s music as captivating. “Her collaboration with Ryan Castro showcases her signature style as ‘La Nena de Quilla,’ infusing her music with renewed energy and a deep connection to her Barranquilla roots.”

During the last Barranquilla Carnival, Aria Vega shone on stage in several shows, and that’s how the Lionfish company, led by Rebeca León, noticed her and signed her immediately.

This week, “Chévere (Premium Remix)” featuring Ryan Castro remains on the Top 100 Colombia Hits chart thanks to 1,676 radio plays nationwide, 1,439,782 Spotify streams, and 1,269,389 YouTube views.

The Top 100 Colombia Hits chart ranks the 100 most popular songs in Colombia each week (provided by Decibeles).

Ryan Castro’s “La Villa,” which topped the chart three weeks ago, remains in second place. The song is now number 2 on the radio, number 6 on Spotify, and number 13 on YouTube.

Mr. Plata and Buenaventura rapper El Americano 4KT with “Las Muñequitas” hold steady at number 3 in its second week on the Top 10.

The song is based on the 2009 Colombian telenovela “Las Muñecas de la Mafia,” starring Amparo Grisales and Fernando Solórzano.

“Las Muñequitas” lost the top spot on Spotify this week to BTS’s “Swim,” but remains number one on YouTube.

One of the most interesting stories of the week is the rise to the top of the radio charts of urban champeta artist Luister La Voz with “Ozono,” which jumps from number five to number four overall.

The rest of the Top 10 is rounded out by Yeison Jiménez with “Destino Final” in fifth place, Medellín trap artist Kris R in sixth, Lenin Ramirez in seventh with “Todo Lo Fue,” W Sound with “Pico y Chao” in eighth, Beele in ninth with “Quédate,” and rounding out the top ten is Kybba, the Italian reggae and dancehall producer, with “Ba Ba Bad (Remix).”

The Top 100 Colombia Hits compiles the most popular songs across all genres each week. They are ranked according to data on their activity on streaming platforms (YouTube/Spotify) and ACR Decibeles’ electronic monitoring of real-time airplay on major radio stations. Each of the three variables—YouTube views, Spotify streams, and Decibeles airplay (radio)—has the same shared value in the list (33.3%).
