After sharing a series of very different singles, Bad Gyal has released her second studio album, “Más Cara.” This new work is more eclectic than her 2024 LP, La Joia, and includes a wide variety of collaborations with both producers and other artists in the genre.

The album opens with the title track, establishing a vintage feel reminiscent of early 2000s urban and Caribbean music. As the tracks progress, the exploration of other sounds becomes noticeable, such as R&B in “Un coro y ya :)”, merengue house in “Noticia de ayer”, bachata in “Da me”, and guaracha in “Fuma”. However, the album is dominated by synthesizers reminiscent of reggaeton from the 2000s and 2010s, as well as dancehall and shatta.

Among the new collaborations are J Álvarez on ‘La iniciativa’, Maureen and 8belial on ‘Tic Tac (Hour Love)’, Jenny “La Sexy Voz” on ‘Hoy te toca’, and De La Rose on ‘Muñeca’, among others. On the production side, Bad Gyal enlisted Cromo X as executive producer, while other prominent names such as Luny Tunes, Nely el Arma Secreta, Sky Rompiendo, Ovy On The Drums, and MAG contributed to the LP.

The Catalan singer-songwriter has described Más cara as her “dream playlist” since it was inspired by the music she listened to when she was younger. In an interview with ROLLING STONE en Español, the Spanish artist described this new work as “free”: “It’s not a concept, it’s not a concept album, or one that only follows one style. I’ve allowed myself to enjoy making the genres I like.”

Moments before the album’s release, Bad Gyal published the music video for “Un coro y ya :)” directed by Daniel Sannwald. The video follows the artist’s signature aesthetic, with sensual scenes that showcase her undeniable power.
