U2 to Bring “The Greatest Show on Earth” World Tour to Stadiums in 2027

The band will kick off their world tour—in support of their new album, Carnaval De Luz—in our country in early 2027.

U2 has announced a return to stadiums in 2027 with the world tour “Carnaval De Luz Presents: The Greatest Show on Earth,” featuring Beck as a supporting act for the Latin American leg of the tour.

The group has teased a production that blends theatrical elements with rock & roll, promising “an explosion of color, overflowing with guitars, bass, and drums—and songs that stay with you.” The tour will begin in Mexico City on February 23 at the Estadio GNP Seguros, with a second show in the Mexican capital on February 26. From there, Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr. will head to São Paulo, Brazil, for performances at the Estádio MorumBIS on March 10 and 12, followed by two nights in Buenos Aires, Argentina, at the Estadio River Plate on March 23 and 25.

Beck will serve as the opening act for all six announced concerts. Dates for Europe and North America are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks; the band is also working on plans to return to their native Ireland.

The tour announcement coincides with the release of U2’s new single, “The Greatest Show on Earth”—the third track unveiled so far from their upcoming album, Carnaval De Luz. Co-written by the band and Brian Eno, the song explores the relationship between two lovers struggling to keep faith in one another. Their music video, directed by Anton Corbijn—a frequent collaborator of U2—was filmed in the California desert and features a satire in which the band appears as a religious cult, with women performing the heaviest labor.

The song joins previously released singles “Street of Dreams” and “Silencio,” building significant anticipation for the release of “Carnaval De Luz,” scheduled for November 13. The 12-track album marks U2’s first collection of new, previously unreleased material since “Songs of Surrender” (2023), which reached number 5 on the Billboard 200 chart. This new release also features contributions from Martin Garrix, Daniel Lanois, and Ryan Tedder, and includes a duet between Bono and Dolly Parton on the closing track, “Torn.”

For U2, this new tour marks a return to stadiums following their recent 40-show residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas, where the band revisited the “Achtung Baby” era through the use of immersive technology and visual effects. The last time the group performed in stadiums was during “The Joshua Tree Tour,” which concluded in Mumbai, India, in December 2019, after drawing nearly 3 million fans worldwide.

U2’s track record on the charts is as impressive as their history of live performances. The band has achieved eight number-one albums on the Billboard 200 and six top-10 singles on the Hot 100—including two tracks that reached the top spot: “With or Without You,” which spent three weeks at number one in 1987, and “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For,” which followed with two weeks at the top that same year. Fans who wish to see the group on their upcoming stadium tour will be able to access a subscriber presale at U2.com starting Monday, October 19, at 10:00 a.m. (local time). Remaining tickets will go on sale on Thursday, October 22, at 10:00 a.m. (local time) via the band’s website.
